After an 18-year struggle, Karnati Ramakrishna, a differently-abled youth from Bhadradri Kothagudem district, finally received justice through the compassionate appointment process. In 2007, following the death of his father, Nageswara Rao, a Panchayat Raj Department employee, Ramakrishna applied for a job on compassionate grounds. Despite his eligibility, his application was repeatedly rejected, even after a favorable Tribunal judgment in 2013.
Living with his mother in Vidyanagar Colony, Chunchupalli Mandal, Ramakrishna continued his fight, while his younger brother supported the family as an auto driver.
In December 2023, during the Telangana Government's Praja Darbar led by CM Revanth Reddy, Ramakrishna submitted his plea once again. The Chief Minister’s Office, along with Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), reviewed the case. Finally, an appointment order was issued, posting Ramakrishna as an Office Subordinate in Mulkalapally Mandal. ‘After 18 years of struggle, we finally see justice. This appointment has brought relief and a future to our home,’ Ramakrishna said.
