In a significant move towards educational inclusivity, Telangana SC/ST Commission Chairman Bakki Venkataiah chaired a state-wide review meeting on school education initiatives via video conference. The session was attended by Commissioner and Director of School Education Dr. E. Naveen Nicholas (IAS), alongside state and district education officials.
A major highlight was the announcement of NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), IIT (Indian Institutes of Technology), and CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) coaching for students in Classes 9 to 12. This will be implemented in TGREIS (Telangana Gurukulam Residential Educational Institutions Society), MS (Minority Residential Schools), and KGBV (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya) institutions through a partnership with Physics Wallah, a national-level coaching provider. The initiative targets students from disadvantaged backgrounds to boost their access to competitive exam preparation.
Chairman Venkataiah reiterated the government’s focus on quality and inclusive education. He urged officials to prioritize newly established pre-primary schools and enhance facilities under the "Best Available Schools" scheme.
Further, the chairman announced the rollout of Khan Academy online content across all government schools and the expansion of the FLN AXL (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy–Accelerated Learning) program from 554 to 5,651 schools, targeting Grades 3 to 5. To support digital learning, computer infrastructure will be supplied through TGTS (Telangana Government Technical Services).
Officials were also instructed to inspect schools regularly, ensure timely distribution of textbooks and uniforms, and encourage sports to reduce student stress. The meeting concluded with the felicitation of Chairman Venkataiah for his leadership, with participation from Commission members Shankar, Rambabu Naik, and other education administrators.
