New Delhi: As India places its young workforce at the heart of its journey towards Viksit Bharat, Vedanta Power continues to strengthen its focus on creating opportunities for young talent to learn, lead and make an impact as the next generation of power leaders. With 56% of its workforce below the age of 35, Vedanta Power sees young professionals as a critical part of building the capabilities required for a rapidly evolving power industry. The company’s approach combines campus hiring, structured learning, leadership guidance, cross-functional development and opportunities for early ownership to gain exposure to real-world operations and develop the capabilities needed to contribute meaningfully to India’s growth story.

As part of this strategy, the company has recently onboarded 54 campus hires, of whom 57% are women, bringing fresh talent and diverse perspectives into the power sector. The young professionals, from premier institutes across India, represent a range of domains including engineering, technical functions, human resources, communications, finance, commercial, ESG and CSR. Campus recruitment continues to be an important channel for bringing emerging skills and new perspectives into the organisation.

Speaking about the programme, Mr. Rajinder Singh Ahuja, Chief Executive Officer, Vedanta Power, said, “India’s power growth story is entering a new phase. We are not only going to need more power, but people who can operate complex assets, adopt new technologies, improve efficiency and respond to an increasingly dynamic energy landscape. At Vedanta, building capacity and building capability go hand in hand. Our young professionals will be an important part of that journey. We want to give them exposure to the business, access to experienced leaders and the opportunity to take ownership early, so they can grow into the power leaders who will shape the next chapter of India’s power sector.”
