BC organisations across Telangana have intensified their protest against GO No. 46, alleging that the new order drastically reduces BC reservations in sarpanch elections and pushes the community into political darkness. BC JAC Chairman Jajula Srinivas Goud warned that the fight will continue from villages to Delhi until the government withdraws the GO and restores constitutional protection for BC reservations.

As part of the state-wide protest call on Sunday, BC JAC leaders burnt copies of GO 46 at Amberpet, in front of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule statue. Srinivas Goud, along with Working chairman Gujja Krishna and co-chairman Kulkacherla Srinivas Mudiraj, tore copies of the order and accused the government of betraying BCs. He said Congress and BJP had a “secret pact” that led to this GO, allegedly aimed at enabling upper-caste dominance in village governance by curbing BC political representation.

Goud criticised the government for reversing earlier gains achieved through GO 9, which had ensured thousands of gram panchayats were reserved for BCs. With GO 46, he said, a community that forms nearly 60% of the population will now receive only 18% reservation—an act he termed as political burial for BCs in Telangana. He questioned why the State and Centre, which claim to stand for BCs, failed to defend BC reservation rights. He asserted that the agitation will continue relentlessly until GO 46 is scrapped.
