Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy today hailed Chakali Ailamma as a “flag of defiance” against oppression and repression. Paying floral tributes to her portrait on her birth anniversary in New Delhi, the CM said, “Ailamma was a warrior who blew the siren against aristocratic arrogance and tyranny in Telangana about 80 years ago.” He recalled that the 'Telangana Thalli' statue was created with inspiration drawn from Sammakka, Sarakka and Chakali Ailamma.

Congress MPs Porika Balaram Nayak, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, and party leader Rohin Reddy also participated in the programme.

Minister for roads and buildings, and cinematography Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy described Chakali Ailamma as a brave woman who inspired the Telangana armed struggle for land, freedom, and the liberation of the poor. He offered floral tributes at Ailamma’s statue in front of the Rajaka Bhavan on Sagar Road, Nalgonda, on the occasion of her death anniversary.

Recalling her heroism, Venkat Reddy said Ailamma was a fearless warrior who stood up to the Nawabs and drove away the Razakars. “She roared like a lion in the days of bow and arrow. When her gong struck, it tied the nobility’s tail. When she wielded her scythe, the oppressed gathered in strength. She became a red flag of resistance and breathed hope into the struggles of the poor,” he observed and added that the State government had established the 'Veeranari Chakali Ailamma Women’s University' in her memory and reaffirmed that their government has been working in line with her ideals.

Among those present were Miryalaguda MLA Bathula Laxma Reddy, Nalgonda Town Congress President Gummula Mohan Reddy, former Municipal Chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy, former Vice Chairman Abbagoni Ramesh Goud, and leaders of the Rajaka Sangam.
