CM calls for constructing new bus station in Tirupati

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday instructed the officials to construct a state-of-the-art bus station in Tirupati to cater to the growing number of pilgrims. The Chief Minister held a review meeting with officials of National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHL) and APSRTC at the camp office. He said that the new bus station should have a bus bay that can accommodate about 150 buses at a time, along with helipad facility, ropeway, commercial complexes, malls and multiplexes.

He said that two bus entrances and 2 exits should be set up and solar roof tops should be used to meet their own electricity needs. The bus station, which is proposed to be built in an area of 13 acres, is proposed to be constructed to accommodate at least one lakh people daily. The Chief Minister mentioned that in future, all buses will be operated in electric mode and that every bus should be provided with charging facility. The Chief Minister examined a total of 5 models in this regard and called for a meeting with stakeholder for further developing these models. The CM also instructed the officials to prepare plans to modernize all the bus stations in the state.
