Cong ‘Debt Card’ Brahmastra to topple Revanth’s Govt: KTR

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K. T. Rama Rao declared the party’s full preparedness for the upcoming local body elections, predicting a resounding victory from grassroots to national levels. Addressing party workers at Telangana Bhavan, KTR launched a fierce critique of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government, asserting that public disillusionment would lead to their electoral defeat.

KTR introduced the 'Debt Card' campaign as a “Brahmastra” to expose the Congress government’s failures, particularly its inability to fulfill promises. He accused the Congress of betraying farmers, women, youth, students, and the elderly, citing unfulfilled pledges like two lakh government jobs, scooties for female students, and a Rs 4,000 pension. “The Congress hand symbol has become a hand of destruction for its own party,” KTR remarked, emphasizing the campaign’s role in highlighting the government’s “heinous betrayal.”

In a sharp attack, KTR compared Revanth Reddy to Roman Emperor Nero, who “fiddled while Rome burned.” He criticized the Chief Minister’s “Future City” rhetoric, pointing out the government’s failure to address Hyderabad’s overflowing drains, uncollected garbage, and deteriorating roads. KTR contrasted this with the BRS’s achievements under K. Chandrashekhar Rao, including 42 flyovers and underpasses built in Hyderabad. “Those who cannot save the present city are making hollow claims about building a future one,” he mocked.

KTR opined public anger over issues reminiscent of past Congress regimes, such as farmers facing fertilizer shortages and tragic queue deaths. He expressed confidence in BRS’s strength, bolstered by new members like TDP’s Pradeep Chowdhary joining under MLC L. Ramana’s leadership. KTR predicted a strong BRS performance in the Jubilee Hills by-election, crediting KCR’s legacy of elevating Telangana’s identity and governance. He highlighted KCR’s 14-year struggle for statehood and transformative decade-long rule, positioning BRS as the people’s choice against Congress’s misrule.
