The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), acting on credible information, arrested and deported Mohamed Yagoub Mohamed Ali (34), a Sudanese national, to prevent further involvement in activities detrimental to national security.
Ali came to India on a student visa in 2012 but overstayed illegally for over 12 years. He discontinued his studies and was arrested twice in 2018 (Kushaiguda PS) for cultivating Ganja and in 2019 (Rajendranagar PS) for possession of Charas and Heroin. Though acquitted in both cases (2023 and 2025), he continued links with drug peddlers.
In October 2024, he was caught again with another Sudanese national during a raid in Tolichowki, where MDMA was recovered. During inquiry, it was found his passport and visa had long expired. H-NEW expedited the pending trial, and upon acquittal, initiated his deportation.
With support from the FRRO and Sudan High Commission, travel documents were arranged, and he was escorted and deported to Sudan on September 12.
