Justice K. Sarath of the Telangana High Court admitted a writ petition challenging the suspension of the in-charge principal of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential School and Junior College at Parkal in connection with the death of a second-year Bi.P.C. student. The judge is dealing with a writ petition filed by S. Anand Rao, a postgraduate teacher in Telugu who was also serving as in-charge principal. Rao challenged the proceedings issued by the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society on October 29 placing him under suspension following the death of the student.

The petitioner stated that the student passed away on October 24 at his residence in Nizampalli village after complaining of stomach pain and allegedly consuming pesticide during the Dasara vacation. The petitioner contended that the incident occurred away from the institution and denied any negligence or dereliction of duty on his part. He alleged that the Society suspended him without conducting an enquiry, in violation of the applicable service rules and the principles of natural justice.
