Hellen Keller’s Degree College for the Deaf celebrated Freshers’ Day at G K Saraswati Function Hall on Friday. Former MP Syed Aziz Pasha attended as Chief Guest, with Lion Pathan Umar Khan, Founder Chairman of the college, as guest speaker.

Special Guest Prasanna Kant announced the inauguration of a new computer lab and pledged ongoing support for deaf students. Sridhar Kulkarni urged students to prioritize education and strive for a successful future.

Lion Pathan Umar Khan highlighted the college as Telangana’s only degree college for the deaf, proudly noting that many alumni now hold government jobs. He emphasized the institution’s mission of empowering people with disabilities. The event concluded with a vibrant catwalk competition, where P. Vaishnavi and Abdul Khalim were declared winners. The celebration marked a warm and inspiring start for the new students on their academic journey.
