Hyderabad police arrests woman in robbery case

Hyderabad police have successfully solved a robbery case that occurred on January 17. The crime took place between Sri Sai Bar, Chikkadpally, and Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad.

Following an extensive investigation that included reviewing CCTV footage and gathering credible information, Chikkadpally police arrested the accused, identified as Kontham Sony, also known as Shahanaz Begum or Rosy, on May 22. The stolen property was partially recovered, and the accused was presented before IXth ACJM, Nampally, with a request for judicial custody.

According to the complaint filed by the victim, M. Satyamma, a GHMC sweeper, the accused befriended her on January 17 and took her to Sri Sai Bar, where she was made to consume toddy. Taking advantage of her intoxicated state, the accused forcibly took Rs. 20,000 in cash, an Infinix mobile, gold jewelry, silver anklets, ATM and ESI cards, and house keys before abandoning her at Mehdipatnam.

A police team reviewed footage from nearly 50 CCTV cameras, identified the suspect, and made the arrest. Upon detention, authorities recovered gold ear studs (3.620 grams), gold Mateelu (2.780 grams), silver anklets (237.700 grams), and Rs. 5,500 in cash. The accused remains in judicial custody as legal proceedings continue.
