Bengaluru, 13 July 2026: International Jawa-Yezdi Day (IJYD), one of the world’s most enduring rider-led motorcycle traditions, marked its 24th edition on 12 July 2026. What began as a grassroots initiative among Jawa and Yezdi owners has evolved into a global movement. Today, it brings together generations of riders through a shared love for motorcycling, heritage and community. Celebrated every year on the second Sunday of July, IJYD has grown from a small owner-driven initiative into a global tradition embraced by riders across generations. Vintage Jawas and Yezdis that have travelled through decades continue to share the road with modern-day Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles. They are united by a common passion for riding.
This year, the celebration united 7,500+ riders across 150+ cities in India, alongside 40+ enthusiast communities. Beyond borders, the movement reached 11 countries, where riders marked the occasion through local rides, community gatherings, and digital participation. Together, riders celebrated not only iconic motorcycles, but also the friendships, memories and stories that have kept the Jawa-Yezdi spirit alive for generations. Further strengthening the event’s global character, Jawa communities around the world joined hands with riding clubs across India under a common identity. This helped link celebrations across geographies and create a shared global narrative.
The scale of this year’s festivities was made possible by the collective efforts of more than 40 Jawa-Yezdi rider clubs, alongside dealerships and independent enthusiast communities across the country. Together, they helped create a celebration that remains built by riders, for riders. Anupam Thareja, Co-founder, Classic Legends, said, "Twenty-four years ago, International Jawa-Yezdi Day began as a simple expression of passion among riders who wanted to celebrate the motorcycles they loved. Today, it has grown into a global tradition that transcends borders and generations. What makes IJYD truly special is that it belongs to the riders themselves. Every ride, every gathering and every shared story keeps this legacy alive. More importantly, it celebrates the friendships, communities and memories built around these motorcycles.
