Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that the Prime Minister had failed to teach a befitting lesson to Pakistan after the Pahalgam incident. The Chief Minister on Wednesday paid floral tributes to the statue of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in front of the Secretariat on his death anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy stated that the Prime Minister has taken a backward step in seeking revenge against Pakistan regarding the Pahalgam incident and that the present union government finds itself in a weakened position, potentially requiring a ceasefire as directed by US President Donald Trump.
He noted that every citizen recalls the fighting spirit of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the Pahalgam incident. Indira Gandhi, known as the Iron Lady, taught Pakistan a strong lesson by responding decisively to the attacks instigated by the neighboring country in the form of terrorism against the Indian people. She emphasized that India does not need anyone’s mediation, as the country is sufficiently robust to protect itself. Regrettably, Revanth Reddy pointed out, the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears to be acting under the guidance of the American President.
He alleged that the BJP leaders are trying to hide their incompetence by criticising Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The Chief Minister also found fault with Union Minister Kishan Reddy for targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to cover up his incompetence.
"Kishan Reddy is in deep slumber. The Congress party came forward and announced unflinching support to the Centre at the time of Pahalgam incident. But, Kishan Reddy is not acknowledging the Congress party and instead is criticising Rahul Gandhi," he said. The Chief Minister further stated that some political forces have picked holes in the installation of Rajiv Gandhi's statue near the Secretariat and some narrow minded people are criticising Rajiv Gandhi.
