Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana state president N. Ramchander Rao has stated that the credit for passing the Women’s Reservation Bill, ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’, belongs entirely to the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the Bill was passed in Parliament after bringing all parties on board, and accused the Congress of now attempting to block its implementation.

Speaking at a programme held in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Ramchander Rao alleged that the Congress party, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and INDIA bloc parties are spreading false propaganda against the Bill. He claimed that there is a deliberate conspiracy to prevent the implementation of 33 percent women’s reservation in legislative bodies.

As part of a show of support for women’s empowerment and the reservation Bill, the BJP’s Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha organized a large scooter rally in Hyderabad.

Women participated in large numbers in the rally, expressing support for the Central government and Prime Minister Modi. The event highlighted the demand for early implementation of 33 percent reservation for women in legislatures.

Ramchander Rao said that women’s reservation has been pending for nearly 30 years and blamed the previous UPA government for failing to move the Bill forward due to pressure from Congress and its allies. He added that the present government is committed to implementing the reservation by the 2029 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

He further said that the Bill is scheduled for discussion in the upcoming Parliament session from April 16 to 18, and that women across the country are expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for this historic step. He also stated that BJP Telangana Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha conducted the scooter rally to extend support to the Central government.

On the issue of delimitation, Ramchander Rao criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for writing a letter to the Prime Minister, alleging that his claims of injustice to southern states are false. He said such statements are misleading and could lead to divisive politics that may affect national unity.

He accused Revanth Reddy of engaging in politics based on religion, caste, and regional divisions, and said his remarks amount to attempts to divide the country. He further alleged that the letter itself reflects Congress’s opposition to women’s reservation.

Ramchander Rao asserted that no injustice will be done to southern states, as Prime Minister Modi has already clarified that all regions of the country will be treated equally. He urged people, especially those in Telangana and southern India, not to believe what he called false propaganda being spread by the Congress.
