Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Commissioner Shiva Kumar Naidu has directed officials to accelerate the implementation of land acquisition and rehabilitation packages for key government projects, stressing the need for transparency and timely assistance to displaced families. The Commissioner chaired a review meeting at the IDOC office on Friday along with District Collector Rahul Sharma. The meeting was attended by officials from the Revenue, Survey, Singareni and Genco departments to assess the progress of land acquisition for various projects.
During the meeting, the Commissioner reviewed various stages of the land acquisition process, including preliminary notifications, project declarations, award procedures, and other related formalities. He sought detailed updates from the concerned officials on the status of each stage. Commissioner Shiva Kumar Naidu said that land acquisition for public welfare projects should be expedited while ensuring that rehabilitation and resettlement benefits are provided to displaced persons without delay. He instructed officials to implement R&R packages strictly in accordance with government norms and with complete transparency.
District Collector Rahul Sharma assured the Commissioner that the district administration would take all necessary steps to ensure smooth implementation of land acquisition and R&R packages for the ongoing projects. He instructed officials from all departments to work in close coordination, prevent complaints through efficient execution, and address any issues immediately as they arise. The Collector further directed that once the land acquisition process is completed, the acquired land should be handed over to the Irrigation Department without delay to facilitate the timely execution of the projects.
