SIT seeks custody of four accused in liquor scam case

The Special Investigation Team(SIT) which is probing the sensational Andhra Pradesh liquor scam has filed a petition on Monday in the Vijayawada court seeking custody of the four key accused in the case. The SIT has sought a week's custody of retired IAS officer Dhananjaya Reddy, YS Jagan's OSD Krishna Mohan Reddy, Kashireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, who was A1 in the case, and Balaji Govindappa, who was the director of Bharathi Cements. The SIT team claimed that the four of them needed to be interrogated together. 

The SIT has claimed that certain developments have happened in the matter of liquor bribes and commission with the knowledge of these four accused and that is why there is a need to interrogate the four together before proceeding for further investigation. The SIT's plea is likely to be heard on Tuesday Three days ago, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a petition in the Vijayawada court seeking permission to record the statement of Raj Kasireddy. 

Meanwhile, police have filed a petition seeking a week's custody of Govindappa, who is accused number 33(A33) in the liquor scam case. The arguments on the custody petition were concluded in the ACB court. The court has reserved the verdict. The hearing on the bail plea of Sajjala Sridhar Reddy, who is the A6 in the case, has been postponed to tomorrow. The ACB court will hear the petition tomorrow.
