The State government has received 10,031 applications for the recruitment of 5,000 licensed surveyors as of May 17, announced Minister for Revenue Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. On Monday, the Minister conducted a review meeting regarding the recruitment process for licensed surveyors.
During the meeting, he instructed officials to promptly finalise all necessary preparations for the training of the licensed surveyors. Training is set to take place over two months at the Survey Training Academy in Gachibowli, starting from May 26. He expressed hope that the hiring of licensed surveyors would increase employment opportunities in rural areas and fulfill the government's goal of resolving land disputes.
The Minister said the digitalization of survey records (maps) will be carried out through TGRAC (Telangana Remote Sensing Applications Center) and this process will be started in three villages on a pilot basis in two days - Lingala village of Nagarkurnool district, Takkalapalli in Mallyala mandal of Jagtial district, and Peddakorukondi in Kallur mandal of Khammam district.
‘Digital maps can be easily accessed from anywhere and provide accurate information faster and at a lower cost than manual methods. Through digital mapping, details like size and shape of land plots can be obtained with accuracy,’ Ponguleti said.
He further said that transparency in government services will increase and the mutation process will be accelerated. The Minister explained that restoration and security can be stored securely in digital form and can be updated from time to time.
