Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari on Friday said that Telangana state is at the forefront of enhancing the business environment. A senior delegation from the Union government, led by Sukrithi Likhi, along with officials from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), convened a meeting with the Telangana government at the Secretariat here on Friday.
The discussion centered on minimizing compliance requirements and deregulation. During the meeting, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari highlighted that Telangana is at the forefront of implementing measures to enhance the ease of doing business. She noted that the state is on the verge of overcoming additional obstacles to foster an environment conducive to accelerated growth and development.
The Chief Secretary mentioned that significant reforms have already been introduced to improve business conditions, and the current emphasis is on enhancing the quality of the business environment and addressing associated costs.
‘New systems like Build Now for expediting building plan approvals and Bhu Bharathi for land efficient administration are put in place. There is a good appreciation for the policies of the government from the industry and business sector,’ she said.
The Chief Secretary further stated that the policies are backed by strict monitoring and the government's initiatives are evident in transforming Hyderabad into a major economic power house.Santhi Kumari raised the issue of the cumbersome and time taking procedures for forest clearance which is a stumbling block for taking up development activities.
She observed that while protection of forest and wildlife is also a priority, restrictive policies result in time over runs.Suktithi likhi complimented the Telangana government for the major reforms and initiatives which led to the state being a top notch state in the country in the implementation of ease of doing business.
She noted that Telangana is considered best in several sectors such as having a GIS database for industrial land availability, doing away with floor area ratio for industrial and commercial plots, empanelment of 3rd parties in buildings approvals and joint inspections, Occupancy Certification for buildings, electricity and water connections, approval and renewal of factory trade licences etc.
