Two held in 63L insurance fraud case

Hyderabad: The Cybercrime Police, Hyderabad, arrested two accused from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with an Rs 63.45 lakh insurance fraud.

The arrested individuals identified as Devash Rastogi (31) and Jitendra Agarwal (32), are linked to six similar cases across India, including one in Hyderabad. The case involves a 58-year-old Hyderabad resident who was contacted by fraudsters posing as officials from the IGMS Department. They promised reimbursement from insurance companies and convinced him to pay Rs 4,02,329 to a supposed NPCI account via credit card. After gaining his trust, the accused showed fake investment profits and later blocked further communication.
