The second day of the 11th edition of the Hyderabad Tyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival unfolded as a rich tribute to Saint Tyagaraja, celebrating the enduring legacy of his Carnatic compositions and their spiritual depth.
The programme commenced with Jyothi Prakasanam on Tuesday, performed by senior vidwan K L N Murthy garu along with Bharateeya Kala Samskriti founder Srivani Potluri garu, co-founder Shobha Srinivasan garu, and Kalluri Srinivas garu, symbolising the ceremonial beginning of the evening.
The cultural segment opened with a graceful dance ballet by students of Bharateeya Kala Samskriti, reflecting classical aesthetics and devotion through expressive choreography. This was followed by a vocal concert by Vidwan Sridhar Toopurani, who presented a traditional Carnatic repertoire. He was accompanied by K L N Murthy on violin, Phanibhushan on mridangam, and Dr R Srikanth on kanjira, earning appreciation for the concert’s rhythmic balance and melodic clarity.
The evening continued with a vocal recital by Vidushi Darbha Mruduravali. Her performance, supported by K L N Murthy on violin, Dr R Srikanth on mridangam, and Phanibhushan on ghatam, added further depth to the musical proceedings.
The highlight of the day was Swara Laya Sudha, led by renowned layakala vipanchi exponent Peravali Jayabhaskar. The ensemble included Mallela Kanthi Swaroop on vocal, Oruganti Rajasekhar on violin, Saraswathula Hanumantharao on ghatam, and Kalluri Srinivas on kanjira.
The event was attended by Vasunadh Reddy garu, Sasidhar Reddy garu, Surya garu of Prime 9 Group, Kokali Venkata Rama Rao garu, and Sripadmini garu.
