Uttam announces Rs 23 crore development works in ancestral village

Uttam Kumar Reddy visited his ancestral village of Tatipamula in Suryapet district on Wednesday, announcing educational and infrastructure initiatives exceeding Rs 23 crore. Speaking to a large gathering of locals and childhood friends, Uttam Kumar Reddy paid tribute to his late father, Nallamala Purushotham Reddy, stating that his family’s roots in the village inspired the fresh development push.

The Minister announced a Rs 2-crore primary school building funded by Telangana GENCO—directing the District Collector to complete construction before the next academic year—and a Rs 5-crore Zilla Parishad High School building backed by CSR funding. Additional sanctions include a Rs 16-crore check dam-cum-bridge and 80 Indiramma housing units.

Despite Tatipamula falling under the Thungathurthi constituency rather than his home segment of Huzurnagar, Uttam Kumar Reddy assured continued support for local infrastructure, while local leaders submitted petitions for additional housing and a regional fire station. 

An emotional homecoming

It was more than an official visit. For Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Wednesday’s trip to Tatipamula was a return to his roots — and for the village, an emotional homecoming of its son. Villagers lined the roads and gathered in large numbers as Uttam arrived at his ancestral village.  Addressing the gathering, Uttam recalled his father Nallamala Purushotham Reddy, who died about a decade ago, and spoke emotionally about his wish to visit Tatipamula once more before his death.

Though that wish could not be fulfilled, Uttam said the memory had remained with him and strengthened his resolve to do something enduring for the village associated with his family for generations. Recalling his own childhood in Tatipamula, the Minister said meeting old friends and familiar faces brought him immense happiness and satisfaction
