Three more villages to be relocated from the core area of Kawal Tiger Reserve (KTR) in erstwhile Adilabad district in Telangana Under 'Project Tiger. A meeting was held with the villagers from Alinagar, Dongapalli, and Mallial and the villagers have expressed their willingness to relocate from the Kawal Tiger Reserve.
Mancherial District Forest Officer Shiv Aasheesh Singh, accompanied by revenue officials, visited Mallial village in Jannaram mandal and held a meeting with the tribal residents, who agreed to relocate. However, the villagers requested five acres of cultivable land, houses, and other necessary facilities
The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has identified 10 to 12 villages within the core area of the Kawal Tiger Reserve (KTR) that cause significant disturbances and need to be relocated.
This move comes after the successful relocation of two villages from Kawal Tiger Reserve. Earlier, Maisampet and Rampur, home to 94 families that have been relocated to Kothpadepally in Kadam mandal, where a fully equipped rehabilitation colony spanning approximately 13 acres, has been established. The relocated families received financial assistance, residential sites and agricultural land from the government.
