The Andhra Pradesh government has ramped up efforts to complete lakhs of under-construction houses under PMAY-1, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu setting a deadline of March 2026. Officials have been instructed to finish 2,000 houses per day, with progress to be reviewed at the upcoming collectors' conference.
Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasaradhi and Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain are conducting daily reviews, directing collectors to inspect sites and remove bottlenecks. The Option-3 model—where agencies build homes in clusters of 20—has been prioritized to overcome issues faced under the previous regime.
Of the 3.5 lakh houses launched under Option-3, 1 lakh have been completed. 25 agencies are currently engaged, each with a 2,000-house target. The state has also provided power, water, and enhanced subsidies—including ₹50,000 for SC, ST, and BC beneficiaries—on top of central and state assistance.
Since the coalition took charge, 2.86 lakh houses have been completed. A housewarming ceremony for 3 lakh homes is being planned. “The CM is clear—every house must be delivered on time, with quality and satisfaction,” said a senior official.
