Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday assured that the Telangana government is fully committed to the welfare of Backward Classes and is working with sincerity to implement the Kamareddy Declaration. He said the government plans to introduce a BC Sub-Plan by increasing budget allocations and raising reservations to 42%.

Bhatti held a meeting with a delegation of BC leaders led by BC Welfare Association National President Jajula Srinivas Goud at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Bhavan in Hyderabad. During the interaction, the delegation requested Rs 20,000 crore annual allocation for BC welfare, clearing of fee reimbursement dues, establishment of a world-class Phule Knowledge Centre, expansion of overseas scholarships, and reservation in government contracts.

Responding to their demands, Bhatti said the government would soon clear pending educational dues in phases, ensure timely implementation of the Sub-Plan, and work towards setting up the Phule Vignana Bhavan in Hyderabad. He reiterated that the government would not allow injustice in fund allocation or policy matters concerning BCs. Representatives from various BC associations, including student, women, employee, and youth wings, were present and welcomed the government’s firm stand on BC welfare.
