Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU) and world-renowned Western Sydney University will launch new joint agricultural education courses. In addition to the regular B.Sc (Agriculture), Community Science, Food Science Technology, and Agricultural Engineering courses at Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University, a four-year B.Sc agriculture degree course will be launched in collaboration with the Western Sydney University (WSU) from Australia from the academic year 2025-26. The Students will study for three years at PJTAU and one year at Western Sydney University in the four-year course period. Thus, the students will have the opportunity to study at both the universities.
Similarly, if the students also want to study M.Sc, they will have to study for another year at the Western Sydney University (WSU). Thus, the B.Sc degree will be awarded from the PJTAU and M.Sc degree will be awarded from Western Sydney University. If any students want to do PhD at the Western Sydney University after their PG, they can complete their PhD with the help of a scholarship without any fees.
The PGTAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Aldas Janaiah said that the process of reaching an agreement between the two universities on these issues was in the final stage. Janaiah said that all the agricultural courses offered by the Western Sydney University were recognized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). He explained that an agreement was also signed between ICAR and WSU last year to this end. Janaiah said that a notification would be released soon for admissions to these special courses.
