Pharmacies told to display PvPI QR code for faster ADR reporting

23-11-2025 12:00:00 AM

The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) of Telangana has directed all retail and wholesale pharmacies to prominently display the “Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) QR Code” along with the toll-free helpline 1800-180-3024 to enable quicker reporting of Adverse Events and Adverse Drug Reactions (AE/ADRs).

As part of a national push to improve patient safety, pharmacies must ensure the QR code is clearly visible and easily accessible to customers.

With a simple scan, individuals can instantly report suspected drug reactions, while the helpline provides an additional channel for support.

The DCA urged the public to actively contribute to drug safety, noting that each ADR report goes directly into PvPI’s Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring System, helping authorities detect early signals and reduce medication-related risks.

All pharmacies in Telangana have been asked to comply with the mandate to build a safer and more vigilant healthcare system.
