Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has predicted a significant decline for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting they would secure no more than 150 seats in the next general elections. He confidently declared that Rahul Gandhi would dethrone Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading Congress to a resounding victory. This bold forecast was part of his speech on "Constitutional Challenges - Perspectives and Pathways," delivered at a conference organized by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on Saturday.

Revanth criticized Modi for ignoring the RSS’s 75-year age limit policy, which prompted the retirement of leaders like Advani and Joshi, questioning why Modi remains in office. He highlighted Congress’s tradition of sacrifice, noting Rahul Gandhi’s rejection of ministerial and prime ministerial roles in 2004 and 2009 to focus on uplifting Dalits, Adivasis, OBCs, and the poor for 25 years. Similarly, Sonia Gandhi declined the premiership in 2004, enabling Manmohan Singh, and supported Pranab Mukherjee as President.

Contrasting this, Revanth referenced BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s statement that the BJP would falter without Modi, reinforcing his confidence in Congress’s success. He urged party leaders to unite under Rahul Gandhi to protect the Constitution and defeat Modi, praising Gandhi’s grassroots commitment.

The CM showcased Telangana’s caste census as a national blueprint for social justice, fulfilling Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra pledge. After gaining power, the Telangana government introduced a 42% BC quota in education, employment, and local governance, crediting public support via “Mohabbat ki Dukan.”

Revanth also underscored Congress’s historical legacy, from its pre-independence role to Indira Gandhi’s victory over Pakistan and the sacrifices of Indira and Rajiv Gandhi against terrorism. He challenged BJP’s dismissal of Congress’s contributions, citing Mahatma Gandhi and the Gandhi family as symbols of national service.

Revanth called for a united fight to safeguard democracy, positioning Rahul Gandhi as the leader to drive change in the upcoming elections. He emphasized the need for inclusive governance, promising to address the aspirations of youth and women through policy reforms that prioritize education and healthcare access across India.

Additionally, Revanth outlined plans to strengthen rural economies by promoting sustainable agriculture and skill development programs, aligning with Congress’s vision of equitable growth. He stressed the importance of grassroots engagement, encouraging party workers to connect with communities to build a movement that resonates with the diverse needs of the nation, ensuring a future where every citizen’s voice is heard.
