Former BRS party MLA Guvvala Balaraju who joined BJP on Sunday , claimed that people of the state  had been cheated and deceived by BRS and Congress parties. Stating that he did some research before joining the BJP, he admitted that though initially he thought that BJP promotes only one type of social group, he stated that many SC, ST, BC, minority people who are patriotic were  also looking towards BJP.

“The main reason for this is the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. He is trying to protect India and is working to ensure that every poor person gets welfare, government benefits and respect. The Congress party gave the slogan "Garibi Hatao" but tried to sell the country and impose foreign leadership on us,” he alleged.  He said that just as everyone fought for the achievement of Telangana state similar sacrifices were  also needed for the country.

He said that he is joining BJP not for growth or any position but for public service. “I will work as a committed party worker with the ideas of the party elders and the advice and suggestions they give,” he said.
