On World Suicide Prevention Day, the Telangana Psychologists Association organized a “Fearless Life” awareness session at Helen Keller’s College in Secunderabad on Wednesday. The program aimed to educate students on mental health, stress management, and the importance of valuing life.
The event was attended by Association President D.V. Mettukuri Ramachandra, Vice President and College Chairman Professor Pathan Umar Khan, Joint Secretary Raj Acharya, senior psychologists Narayana and Tulasi, college Principal Dr. Armugam, Vice Principal Dr. Shashidhar Reddy, faculty, and students.
Professor Pathan Umar Khan addressed students about the sacrifices and expectations parents place on their children. He warned against impulsive decisions driven by heartbreak or temporary stress, explaining the lasting impact such actions have on family members. He emphasized that life is a precious gift, and true fulfillment comes from living with dignity and helping others.
Raj Acharya spoke about the broader societal consequences of suicide, urging individuals to think carefully before taking such extreme steps and consider the example it sets for future generations.
Dr. Mettukuri Ramachandra guided students through practical techniques to manage stress and tension, encouraging resilience, motivation, and goal-oriented thinking. He explained strategies to cope with challenges and highlighted the importance of mental strength for personal and professional success.
The session concluded with Telangana Psychologists Association and Helen Keller’s College officials honoring Dr. Ramachandra for his contribution, inspiring students to lead meaningful, courageous lives.
