The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) has launched a special drive to promote Electric Vehicle Public Charging Stations (EV PCS) under the “Pradhan Mantri Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE)” scheme. On Tuesday, CMD Musharraf Faruqui, IAS, visited the Telangana Secretariat parking areas to assess potential locations for EV PCS.

He stated that individuals or entities setting up EV PCS in major cities and industrial zones could receive subsidies ranging from 70% to 100%, depending on the location category. A meeting with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) was held last week to support implementation. A module in the SASA mobile application allows applicants to register interest, prompting a local Assistant Engineer to visit and record site-specific information, including GPS coordinates, location category (A/B/C), ownership type, public access, area, parking space, nearby infrastructure, and photographs for verification.
