Tummala Nageswara Rao stated that the State government has requested the Centre to allow the procurement of another 25,000 metric tonnes to enable soybean farmers in Telangana to get support prices

Keeping in view the interests of farmers, Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao has ordered the procurement of an additional 25,000 metric tonnes of soybean in Telangana.
During the monsoon crop season-2024, the State government, through the Markfed nodal agency, has already procured 59,000 metric tonnes of soybean from farmers at the support price of Rs. 4,892.
With the request of elected representatives and District Collectors, the State government has decided to procure additional soybean from farmers.
Tummala Nageswara Rao stated that the State government has requested the Centre to allow the procurement of another 25,000 metric tonnes to enable soybean farmers in Telangana to get support prices, and the proposal is now under consideration by the Union government.
The procurement process of soybeans through Markfed 49 centers is being continued smoothly in Telangana without any hassle for the farmers, he said.
The Minister said that the Adilabad district had collected the highest amount of 27,811 metric tonnes followed by 14,476 metric tonnes in Nirmal, 7867.75 metric tonnes in Kamareddy, 5413.85 metric tonnes in Nizamabad and 3,339 in Sangareddy.
