The historic Maha Kumbhabhishekam was conducted with great devotion at the Kaleshwaram Mukteshwar Temple in Mahadevpur Mandal, Bhupalpally district on Sunday. This ancient temple, located at the confluence of the Godavari, Pranahita, and Saraswati rivers, holds a unique place in Telangana’s religious heritage.
The sacred ritual, performed after 42 years, was led by Sringeri Peetham’s Tapovan Peetadhipathi Sacchidananda Saraswathi, accompanied by Vedic chants from scholars. Thousands of devotees gathered to witness and participate in the auspicious occasion.
Minister for Environment, Forest and Endowments Kondaa Surekha, along with Ministers Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar, attended the event and took part in the rituals. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Surekha highlighted the temple’s significance as the only shrine in the country dedicated to both Mukteshwar and Kaleshwar. She compared the Maha Kumbhabhishekam at Kaleshwaram to the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj, emphasizing the sacredness of the Triveni Sangam here.
The event was attended by Principal Secretary of Endowments Sailaja Ramaiyer, RJC Ramakrishna Rao, and other dignitaries. Following the religious proceedings, Minister Surekha interacted with devotees and took selfies with those who requested.
